Milestones mark the beginning and end of a project and, often, interim goals for a phase of the project or a set of tasks. In charts, they serve as visual cues that show progress and significant points along the way.
Milestones often do not have a duration or any resources assigned to them.
An example of a task is “Move to new building.” This task might lead to a milestone called “Ready to work at new
site.”

Milestones are represented as rounded rectangles in the Schedule Chart in MacProject II. In the Task Timeline and Resource Timelines, they are represented as diamonds if they have no duration, or as bars with a triangle at each end if they have a duration. On a color device, noncritical milestones are in blue and critical milestones are in red in the Schedule Chart and the timeline charts.
